Wedding photographers have been in business ever since the days of grainy black and white prints. Special days require mementos, and there's nothing better than a great picture to add to the nostalgia. Soon grainy images turned to color, and color images turned to HD videos. Whole ceremonies were recorded and now the wedding movie has become as commonplace on the big day as the bride and groom. So what's the next step in the evolution of wedding photography? Well it's drones, of course...
In the biggest shake-up to weddings in recent memory, drones photography is becoming big business for families who want to capture the big day from a unique perspective. This seems a trend destined to grow further, as more and more couples are looking to tie the knot in spectacular locations around the world. After all, Caribbean panoramas are the new canapés.
Daniel Bowen, owner of Matter Video, recently did an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, and explained why drone wedding photography has become such big business. Bowen said “It’s an exciting time to be shooting weddings because of the ability to get different perspectives. People like drone photography because one of the most important factors other than who you are getting married to and who you are inviting is the setting of a wedding".
So what does the future hold? Well for starters: better drones, higher quality cameras and longer battery life - all things which will contribute immeasurably to potential wedding videos, no matter where you are in the world.
